Habitat
Alder stands, damp woodland, scrub, orchards, occasionally gardens.
Foodplant
Mainly alder and blackthorn, also on birch, hawthorn, plum and apple.
Lifestage data
Overwinters as an egg on a fork of a twig on the foodplant.
Larva late April-early June. Pupates in a frail cocoon on the foodplant. |
